The thoracic spine (the area connected to the rib cage) creates a stable base for the neck and shoulders. An immobile thoracic spine forces the lower back, shoulders and neck to work harder. Over time, this can exaggerate rounding in the upper back, and lead to discomfort and complications above (cervical spine, neck) and below (lumbar spine, lower back). In additional to working on spinal mobility, we'll also activate the shoulders and open the side body and outer hips.
